Being a food enthusiast, I'm always eager to taste any sort of food offered, so long as its safe. One of the most anticipated food-tasting experiences for me was when I first tried prawns at a restaurant in the city that I visited with my family. I was not aware that I was about to taste something, though one never knows when eating out. It seems my father was possessed with a sudden bout of adventurous enthusiasm when he ordered a large tray of prawns. I hadn't really been paying attention while he was ordering the food. However, my attention was completely snared when a large mound of red prawns was placed upon the table before me. I was fascinated with the way they looked- not quite dead and not quite edible. Most of the prawns were half a hand's length while others exceeded even that. Biding my time by eating the other- normal- food placed on the table, I watched, perplexed, as the rest of my family tried out bits from the fishy mountain. They exhibited an array of emotions on their faces, ones I couldn't quite decipher in order to figure out if the prawns tasted good or bad. I didn't really want to ask them how they tasted, in case I got dissuaded from them out for myself. So, when I was finally through with eating my other food, I tentatively reached for a single, large prawn, The hard shell was smooth and warm, ultimately fascinating me instead of repulsing me. I peeled off the outer layer and, at last, took my first bite. I was very pleased to discover that it was both juicy and salty. The meaty texture was not at all unpleasant, even tasting a bit better than chicken. I was not, however, willing to eat or suck on the head. There was just too much going on there. I helped myself to at least four prawns that evening. Saying I was stuffed would have been an understatement. Suffice it to say, I immensely enjoyed trying out prawns for the first time and looked forward to eating it on multiple other occasions.

Thank you.
