The invention of cars has been a revolutionary development for the human living. However, everything comes at a cost. Let us weigh both advantages and disadvantages of people owning cars.

I'm sure everyone wants to get around, but I wager everyone also wants to look classy while doing it. In that case, public transport naturally would not suffice. In some cases, owning one's own car is necessary due to a lack of public transport in the area or odd hours or circumstances in which transport is required. It all depends on the individuals' circumstances. Public transport is not reputably reliable for a number of varying reasons, after all.

On the other hand, the increased purchasing of cars causes the increased development of them. Un that case, both the development as well as the functioning of the cars are harmful to the environment and atmosphere. The increased usage of cars ultimately equates to the exhaustion of a number of natural resources as well as fossil fuels. I think it is our duty to weigh the cause and effect in as unselfish a manner as we can manage for the sake of our planet. For instance, it completely unnecessary for someone with four cars to buy yet another one just for the sake of owning newer, flashier models.

In conclusion, if measured logically, the disadvantages of everyone owning cars far outweigh the advantages.
