Response 1

An excess of anything is bad. We are made witness to this fact by the changes beheld in the world today. The damage made to our planet has many causes, one of the largest contributing factors being overpopulation.

It is quite ridiculously ironic that the more our natural resources decrease, the more the number of people in need of said resources increases. Admittedly, reproduction is a necessity for the continuation of the human race. However, when considering the same necessities of human survival, to anyone with the merest logical understanding of the bleak situation, it is apparent that what our planet needs right now is more planet and fewer people. At the rate that the human population is growing, there will not be a future to sustain and breed considering the poor prioritizing of our efforts. Instead of ensuring a lineage, people should be ensuring a place for the said lineage to flourish.

Conclusively, I would suggest looking to certain rulings and laws passed in certain countries pertaining to a limited number of children allowed per family, with an increased fee, should the families fail to abide by the abovementioned law. I do not think it to be cruel in the least, as it is a perfectly reasonable demand so as to modulate population growth in a country. Birth control should be encouraged for unmarried individuals as well as discouraging sexual activity before one's marriage.

A number of precautions can and must be taken in order to counteract the negative impact of our rapidly growing population if logical thinking is practised in the community and government by applying their efforts where it is needed more.
