Letter - Sample 10

Writing Task 1 – You should spend about 20 minutes on this task || (minimum words limit 150)

You have just moved into a new home and are planning to hold a party. You are worried that the noise may disturb your neighbor.

Write a letter to your neighbor. In your letter

  • Introduce yourself

  • Describe your plans for the party

  • Invite your neighbor to come

Response 1:

Dear Sir,

I am writing to you with regard to the party I'll be hosting in a week. I would like to forewarn you that it will probably get very noisy, considering the fact that there will be quite a few people attending.

I will be hosting a housewarming party to which I'll be inviting all my college friends as well as family. There will be a number of enjoyable activities to partake in, including swimming, eating, singing, volleyball, board games, movies and whatever the partygoers come up with. Suffice it to say, this event will be rowdy, to say the least. I will try to tone it down as much as possible for the convenience of my new neighbours, but I'm not promising anything.

I'm just letting you know, as you are a college professor who probably has a large amount of work to contend with already. However, considering you're still a man in his prime, I would like to invite you to my housewarming party, as well. As I've so diligently listed the number of activities that will be taking place here, please do come and enjoy. You are my new neighbour, after all.

I hope to hear back from you soon.

Kind regards,
