Letter - Sample 40
Writing Task 1 – You should spend about 20 minutes on this task || (minimum words limit 150)
A friend has asked you to babysit on Saturday and wants to know how much you charge per hour for this. Unfortunately, you already have a commitment this weekend and cannot help.
However, you free the following weekend.
Write a letter to your friend explaining that you are not able to help this time, but could help later. Explain also what your fee for the service is.
I am writing to you with regard to your offer to babysit your son, Max, this weekend. An offer, I regret to say, that I'll have to decline.
I'm sure you know how much I adore Max and would love to spend time with him- getting paid to spend time with him being an even better prospect- all the more reason for my regret. The reason I am unable to babysit this weekend is that I have a previous engagement: an interview for the architecture course I applied for. I will be required to travel to the next city on that day, as well as bring along a few of my work. I hope you understand the situation.
However, I will be available the next weekend for whatever you may need me to do, which is probably babysitting again- considering you've established that Saturdays are now considered the days for date night. I envy and admire you. I'll be charging you fifty rands per hour because I am both poor and lenient.
I hope to hear from you soon.
